3. How we comply with the principles of the environmental policy.

3.1 Avoiding environmentally damaging substances, materials and processes - as a member of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) Coachwise is obliged to adhere to the DMA code of practice in relation to environmental issues that are specific to marketing. Our Green Marketing Review and the full code are available in Appendices 1-4.
3.2 Preferential Purchasing - as part of our purchasing procedures and DMA code of practice Coachwise expects suppliers to provide evidence of environmental policies in place in their own organisations. (Reviewed annually)
3.3 Work with other agencies to promote green policies - Coachwise has had a Green Travel Plan since 2004, which is approved by Leeds City Council and encourages staff to use public transport to travel to work.
3.4 Prevention/Planning - Coachwise planned the extension of its offices to incorporate a low energy heating and cooling system, in addition to building regulations concerning energy use and insulation etc.
3.5 Reuse - Reuse and energy saving measures are encouraged. Coachwise has a policy whereby waste paper and cardboard is reused in packaging of mail order products, we provide reusable water glasses instead of plastic cups.
3.6 Recycle - Environmentally sound waste management: Coachwise staff follow procedures for the safe and green disposal of waste, including plastics, cans, paper, cardboard, printer cartridges and electrical goods including mobile phones.
