RFL player's handbook

Client

Rugby Football League

The Job

The RFL wanted to create a player's handbook for the England Women's Talent Development Squad. The aim of this book was to provide added value and support to the coaching messages being provided to the players prior to their New Zealand tour in 2010 and the World Cup in 2012. Coachwise was given a month to create and deliver the solution.

The Solution

Using our full range of editorial, publishing and design solutions, we created a glossy, attractive publication that fits into a Filofax, adheres to the RFL brand and is robust enough to sustain constant use over a considerable amount of time.

From further discussions with the client, we created an added-value slogan for the England Rugby League logo, 'Earn The Badge'. The players have embraced this motivational motto, which underlines the client's belief that the squad have to put in much work before pulling on an England shirt in a competitive match.

Coachwise managed this entire project from inception to completion, from receiving raw copy and organising the content to proofreading and arranging print production of the handbook.

The Results / Benefits

The Rugby Football League was presented with a bespoke handbook that added real value to the support offering it provides to its Women's Talent Development Squad. This publication rivalled, or bettered, anything given to the elite men's squad in preparation for a tour, which boosted morale significantly.
